At Steam House, various types of meat including high quality beef, pork, chicken as well as seafood and vegetables are steamed to your liking. Food is cooked by being placed on a hot stainless-steel strainer plate then covered by a glass dome lid to trap in the steaming heat.
Customer service is really a priority in this place with food being cooked at your table entirely by the staff. Having a good location with car parking space, this restaurant is usually packed during office lunch and weekend dinner so make sure to book your table in advance.
Let’s get to the fun stuff. Food. From our own experience, we had pork ribs congee, steamed chicken wrapped in lotus leaves, Fuji beef with Japanese sauce, brisket point steamed with mushroom. Vegetables will be served first followed by all the meaty dishes. All the juice from meat and veggies will drip into a large bowl underneath with rice being cooked to make delicious congee full of nutrients which can be consumed by the end of the meal. Steaming is not the best way to cook beef or any fatty meat obviously but that is the only way they do at Steam House. So, our advice is to stick with poultry. Stand out from all the dishes that we ordered was the chicken marinated in West Lake lotus leaves. The aroma from lotus leaves really complements the chicken making a unique flavor that can only be found in Hanoi.
